Hey there.
I’m Maxwell Serna, a 3D artist and CGI generalist based in Los Angeles, CA.
Didn’t plan on being a 3D artist. I was studying Graphic Design when I stumbled into CGI, and man, that was it. The idea of building worlds from nothing? That lit a fire. Been chasing light, texture, and mood ever since. Because the difference between good and great? It’s in the details.
The Work
RH Restoration Hardware (2023–Present): Bringing interiors to life for RH’s sourcebooks. Working with some of the best designers out there, balancing clean precision with the beauty of imperfection.
Smith & Noble (2019–2022): Making product visualization more than just images. Built an AR experience that let customers see design in their own space—no imagination required.
Freelance Adventures (2014–Present): Collaborated with brands like Pinto.co and En La Piel. Every project’s been a new challenge, a new way to refine the craft.
Tools of the Trade
3D Software: 3ds Max, Blender, Maya
Rendering: V-Ray, Corona Renderer, Cycles
Compositing: DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop
Texturing: Substance Painter, Photoshop, Quixel Mixer
Game Engines: Unreal Engine
The Philosophy
Great CGI isn’t just about making something look real—it’s about making it feel real. Light tells the story. Texture gives it weight. Mood ties it all together. Get those right, and suddenly, you’re not just looking at an image—you’re somewhere else.
Let’s Collaborate
I’m always up for a new challenge. Got a project? An idea? Let’s make something amazing.
